Nevada opens first online poker site

The state of Nevada has announced its first online poker room has gone live and accepting players. Ultimate Poker began operations on the 30th of April. It is owned by Station Casinos and is the first of its kind in the United States. It is operating with proprietary software and currently offers Texas Hold Em poker and tournaments. The table limits being offers start at $0.01/$0.02 and increase up to the $10/$20 range.

Tobin Prior, the CEO of Ultimate Gaming has stated “There was once a Black Friday for the online gaming industry and that now can be seen as trusting Tuesday. No longer will players of online poker have to worry that their funds are safe. They now have a choice to play where their money is safe and a poker room operated by licensed and trusted people that adhere to the highest industry regulations. The technology behind our poker room is our advantage and theirs. We will continue to invest in our product and development as a company. The software was developed within the U.S by a US owned company and that only adds to our confidence in our software.”

Players must be a minimum of 21 years of age in order to play at Ultimate Poker. They must also provide proof of identity prior to being able to play on the site. Once an account is open players will be able to go to 16 station casinos operated in Nevada in order to collect their winnings.

The poker site is live and ready for new players today.
