VS2 Worldwide Communications is a software developer that focuses on internet sweepstake cafes and today they announced that they have agreed in principal to a deal with the state of Ohio.
This deal will result in VS2 having to the payment of fines in order to have this case against them settled. This fine will not be cheap for VS2 Worldwide Communications. The deal will have VS2 pay out over $600,000 in fines. Those fines include money laundering in the Buckeyes state and the judge of the case ordered that the company pay out $615,000 in punitive costs. This means that VS2 Worldwide communications will have to pay $625,000 in fines over the course of a series of payments.
An internet sweepstakes cafe gives players the opportunity to gamble in the same way that online gambling allows for instead of gambling on a software program or an instant play casino you are gambling from the website itself. This can result in a series of issues such as money laundering and can result in substantial fines being leveled against those who commit acts of this nature. The hope is that the fines are enough to prevent this type of activity from occurring in the future.
The outcome of this case recently changed though as the owners of VS2 Worldwide Communications have been prosecuted and sent to jail. The company is still being fined the total amount of $625,000. This puts the company in serious jeopardy and can result in the company facing severe financial difficulties in the near future.
